Collegiate Poker Tour Events Play Format
Chips
- Each player starts with 300 in tournament chips at their initial table. Game style will be Texas Hold Em’ Shootout in Round One and a Multi-Table style tournament in Round Two.
- A shootout tournament means that the winner from each table advances to the next round. A multi-table tournament is where as players get knocked out, tables will condense until there is one table left with 10 players constituting the final table.
Blinds (Blinds go up every 12 minutes)
- Start- 10/15 ; 15 / 30 ; 25/50 ; 50/100 ; 100/200 (20 min) ; 200/400 (20 min)
- Round 2- Players all start will 300 chips again. Blinds schedule is the same as round 1 but 300/600 (20 min) and 400/800 (20 min) will be added.
- When time has elapsed in a round and a new round is announced, the new limits apply to the next hand.
Game Format
- The Big and Little Blinds ante.
- Each player is first dealt two cards down.
- A round of betting occurs as players decide if they are in or they are out.
- Player bet must be equal to or greater than the big blind. A raise must be double what the last player bet. Ex: bet of 400, must be raised to at least 800.
- The Flop- three community cards are dealt face up on the table, with a round of betting.
- The Turn, a fourth community card is dealt and another round of betting.
- The River- the fifth and final community card is dealt, followed by the final round of betting.
- In the end, the best five-card combination wins the hand and takes the pot.
- If the dealer flips a card face up on accident, that card will become the first burn card, and then the dealer will continue dealing face down cards.
- Tables will all have dealers.
Moving Players
- Tournament staff will call players to their tables as each table finishes play. For a 500 person tournament, there will be 2 rounds and 5 heats in the first round. Each table in the first round will have 10 people. There will be 50 winners from the first round. Those winners will go to round 2 where they will play again, all starting with the same amount of chips, 300. Then those 2nd round tables will play and tournament staff will condense tables until the final 10 players are left. Those ten players will make it to the final table bringing only the chips that they have with them to the final table.
- If player field is not devisable by 10, the extra players will be fit into random tables in the last heat of the first round as a player gets knocked out.
All Rules above will apply regarding chips and blinds. Game format will change slightly. Paid dealers do not offer a cut to the players, but visibly cuts the deck him/herself after shuffling. If a dealer is caught cheating in any fashion with another player, he/she will be removed from the event and CPTE, Inc. will relay all information to the dealers school and appropriate deans.
